Hair extensions Wingates
Welcome to 'EXTRA LENGTH', the mobile hair extension service for people in Wingates
The hair extension technique we use is weaving. Weaves look more subtle than bonded extensions as there is nothing really to see.
We use a technique called "braid weaving". The hair we use is 100% Remy human hair from Europe, India and Brazil.
What is Braid Weaving?
First the hair is plaited horizontally to the scalp and then wefts (rows) of hair are sewn onto the plaits. There are usually two or three rows depending on the length of the natural hair.
You can find further information on our Hair Extensions page.

Lace front wigs Wingates
In addition to hair extensions, we also provide lace front wigs, also known as lace front units. Lace front wigs are 100% INDIAN Remy Hair (cuticle hair) hand-tied to a lace base so that it looks as if hair is actually growing out of your head. No one would ever know if you are wearing a wig. The wig is more comfortable and more natural than a hard front wig. These wigs are versatile and can be cut to suite your style.
- Lace front units can be treated exactly like your own hair in terms of styling. As well as people wishing to change their hairstyle, lace units are greatly beneficial to those suffering from hair loss, such as people undergoing chemotherapy.
- Lace front units can be worn by absolutely anyone. Lace units are a fabulous way to change your look or just have a new hair style without having to undergo any growing, colouring or styling.

Hair weaves in Wingates
Hair weaves are thought to be better for the hair than bonded extensions as it a more natural process - no glue or keratin is needed with a hair weave.
When you have had a hair weave, always thoroughly rinse around the tracks to ensure all shampoo and conditioner traces are gone as it is easy to miss some and if it is left in it can cause itching and a flaky effect.
